Poppet Doll: Ashely

This is Ashley, the first Poppet doll that I made. I was going to name her Mouzie. But when I got the legs put on and stood her up, she announced loud and clear, “My name is Ashley NOT Mouzie!” So now she’s Ashley! This style of Poppet doll was invented by ghille over at craftster.org. She designed her pattern based on Nuno’s Nekomimi dolls. (Nekomimi means “cat eared”, and is a popular character type in anime.

Packing Lunches

Have you seen these? Rubbermaid LunchBlox are a huge hit in our household! My DH has to take his lunch to work every day. The LunchBlox allow me to pack all kinds of things, such as hummus, chips, yogurt, fruit salad, trail mix, etc. There are three different basic kits: Sandwich, Salad, and Entrée. There are two different sized Blue Ice blocks and two different sized lunch totes designed to hold them.

When I graduated from High School, I weighed 105 pounds. I’m 5’4” tall, so that was probably a bit less than I should have. However, I was active.. I danced a lot, swam a lot, roller skated a lot, walked everywhere (I didn’t have a driver’s license yet!) Over the years, I’ve gained weight. A LOT of weight. It crept up gradually, almost unnoticed because it was a slow climb.

There are some cleaning jobs that are just nasty… such as cleaning that greasy broiler pan, the bottom of the oven after Thanksgiving dinner or the BBQ grill after a football party. The cleaners that are normally used aren’t healthy for us, either. However, there is an easy way to clean these up that doesn’t involve anything more than stuff you probably already have on hand: white vinegar and baking soda!

Dad’s Work Tote

DH recently changed jobs. He went from working at home to driving 30+ miles each way every day. He needed a way to carry everything back and forth in an organized way.
